We Moved!!! Our Prince House!

Sorry y'all for being absent the last two weeks, but we were closing on the loft and moving into our new house so we had a lot on our plate. We had a few hiccups, but overall the house buying and selling processes went relatively smooth. I'm not going to lie, the last week before closing on the new house, I was pretty stressed out. So without further delay here are the pictures of our new house.

Some background notes, the house was originally built in the 1950s, but an addition was added on, which included a huge master suite, our dining/entertaining area, and living room (easily an additional 1500 square feet). It has three bedroom and two bathrooms. There has been some debate about whether the house is 2600 square feet or closer to 2800/2900 square feet; either way it is over double the space of the loft so this means more decorating space for me!!

Mirror Mirror On the Wall

Mirrors are always a great piece to decorate a space, especially if you have a smaller space. It can make a tiny space look much larger. I love mirrors that are really simple to the very large and ornate ones. For instance I prefer a simpler designed mirror in a bathroom or living space, and I love a more ornate white one in the bedroom or over a vanity area. I recently have been on a mirror kick and there are a few projects that are coming up that I hope to share with y'all soon that will involve mirrors. Right now Wisteria is having a sale on their mirrors, here. Here are a few inspirations.

Traveling to Greece - A Look Back in 2008

In the Fall of 2008 I took a trip with one of my friends to Greece through a touring company called Globus. This was the second time I used them, the first was a UK trip in 2007. I loved the places we stayed and the tour guides they provided, they are so knowledgeable. The trips I took were designed to see as much as possible of the country in a 10-12 day period. This maybe too much for some, but because I didn't travel before 2007 my goal was to see as much as possible of each country I visit (one at a time) and get a good sample of the places and see which ones I like best with the goal to visit them again later in life.

I absolutely loved Greece and couldn't believe how beautiful it was. The tour I took is very similar to this one here.  Half of the vacation was on land in Greece and the other half on a cruise island hopping. I would totally recommend this touring company, and plan to use them in the future on more trips.

Here are some pictures of my travels in Greece. Enjoy!

Moving Tips

Amos and I are currently in the process of slowly packing up the loft. It is amazing to see all of the stuff I have managed to accumulate over the last five years, especially all of the items made out of glass (I have already gone through three large rolls of bubble wrap). I am glad we are doing the packing in stages instead of trying to do it all at once because I would be extremely stressed out and overwhelmed. To make the moving process somewhat bearable I found some really cool moving tips/ideas here

For powdered makeup place cotton balls in the containers so they don't break.

Get Press'n Seal to hold all of your jewelry together so they won't get tangled.

To help out on cost saving with bubble wrap use your clothes or clean socks to wrap fragile items.

Place your plates vertical so they are less likely to break during the move.

Use tap to keep all of your furniture screws together.

Use a trash bag to gather your clothes while still on the hanger.

Take a picture of your electronics before you disconnect them so you will know how to reconnect it.

Top To Do Crafts

Life has not really slowed down for me yet, but that is okay. Pinterest has once again got me so inspired. I have always loved doing arts and crafts for as long as I can remember, but have only had time to do a few crafts the last year or so. If all goes right the next few weeks and we get our dream house, there will be a spot that will be strictly devoted to crafts. I have been pinning craft spaces for awhile now, you can see my craft pins here

I have compiled a list sort of, of the first few projects I plan to do in that space. Y'all can see the To Do Craft board on my pinterest here, that will take you to each site on how to do each project, plus there are more ideas.

And the Oscar Goes to...

This years Oscars did not disappoint, from the red carpet to the big winners of the night. I had a very chill evening with a friend where we chatted the night away, while watching every moment of the Oscars, and sipping on our homemade cocktails.

We loved Ellen as the host and laughed at almost everything she said or did.

I think by far the best speeches went to Jared Leto, Lupita Nyong'o, and Matthew McConaughey.

I was able to watch a few of the movies before the big award show, but after seeing a few of the winners I need to still catch up; like with "Twelve Years A Slave", "Gravity", and "Blue Jasmine". I was thrilled that both Matthew and Jared won for "Dallas Buyers Club" I thought their commitment to the roll and performance was outstanding.

A far as some of my favorite dresses of the night, that had to go Kate Hudson, Charlize Theron, and Amy Adams.

Overall it was a great evening spent and I can't wait for next year!
